Brief Description

The Statler Center utilizes a rolling admissions policy, with applications reviewed daily. Our three-term system means individuals can start classes in January, May or August. Classes in our 13-week program run from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. There is no cost to participate in this program and transportation is not provided.

Services Offered

  • Employment/Job Training
    • The Statler Center prepares people with physical disabilities and/or visual impairments for exciting careers in the hotel or travel and tourism business. The placement department helps individuals to find a job that gives great pay, benefits, and opportunities for advancement. Job possibilities include front desk clerks, reservations agents, customer service representatives, switchboard operators and many, many more. The Center provides computer training in the latest technology and software programs, whether or not individuals have experience working with computers. A three week internship is built in to the program, giving students a chance to see first hand what it is like to work in the hotel or travel and tourism industry. Staff members are experienced working with all kinds of disabilities. Guest speakers who work within the business and instructors from local colleges and universities will give individuals the skills and training that is needed to succeed in the industry.
