Brief Description

The mission of the Alabama Department of Senior Services is to promote the independence and dignity of those we serve through a comprehensive and coordinated system of quality services.

Services Offered

• In-Home Services
• Provides home- and community-based services to individuals age 60 and over, including such services as meals, nutrition assistance, transportation, information and referral, legal assistance, recreation, and in-home services. Home-based services are provided to individuals who qualify for Medicaid and who qualify for nursing home admission.


• Transportation Services
• Provides transportation services for seniors.


• Information and Referral
• Provides referrals to aging programs.
