Dear Family,

High school is a different era in your child’s life. As we delve deeper together in conversation about your teen transitioning from high school, I’d like us to review the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC)and identify some instructional priorities that will need to be addressed for your teen to transition into his desired postsecondary option. You are going to be an integral part of the learning process as we prepare your teen for life beyond high school. Your teen not only needs to learn and practice skills from the ECC at school, but it is equally important that these skills are taught and practiced at home and in his community, which I why I am enlisting your support.

Sincerely,

  1. What two areas of the ECC would you like to see your teen receive intense instruction in to be prepared for life after high school?
  2. What opportunities for practicing those skills will you provide your teen at home?
