Forget the Major League Baseball Playoffs; It Is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)

I know the Major League Baseball playoffs are really heating up now that it is October, but so is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. AFB’s AccessWorld and APH CareerConnect staff have teamed up to create this month’s employment focused issue of AccessWorld. Each month, AccessWorld comes out with a new issue of evaluations, commentary, and interviews related to the latest technology and trends for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. I spend a lot of time reading each issue in my travels via my iPhone and the AccessWorld App; and every October I get a chance to lend my thoughts to the latest employment resources and commentary on the world of employment.

This year is no different. You can find my revised employment resources piece and a slew of employment-related articles chosen by Editor, Lee Huffman, in this month’s issue of AccessWorld. Lee made sure this issue offers job seekers, vocational rehabilitation counselors, and AccessWorld readers the most employment-related information as possible. You will find articles about LinkedIn, VOIP accessibility, task manager apps, AudioEyes, SpeakEasy, and much more. You can always look back to the past archived issues or do a search of AccessWorld for your current interests. You might want to check out the updated app with new search capability.

Take the time to celebrate, spread the message of disability employment, and read the October issue of AccessWorld today!
