APH CareerConnect Launches the “Lesson Plans for Professionals” Section

APH CareerConnect is proud to announce not just a new blog, but an entire new Lesson Plans for Professionals section on CareerConnect!

That is right, CareerConnect heard the requests from professionals to have lesson plans based around activities for career education, exploration, employment, and navigating through the employment process as a job seeker who is blind or visually impaired.

APH CareerConnect is working with our good friend Shannon Carollo to develop this series. Shannon Carollo is a talented professional who worked for the Lighthouse of the Big Bend in Tallahassee, Florida. Shannon is a transition specialist, and she did her undergraduate and graduate work at Florida State University.

The first module or grouping of lesson plans is based around the preparation for work experiences, but this is just the beginning. A lot more lesson plans will be coming over the next year. APH CareerConnect believes this section will be popular among teachers of children who are blind or visually impaired, transition specialists, and vocational rehabilitation counselors working with youth.

Check out the new section and the Journey to a Successful Work Experience lesson plans! Let us know what you think, and look for more to come in the coming months.
