Introduction

This series of lesson plans is designed to provide your client with an overview of verbal and nonverbal techniques for conducting oneself considerately, appropriately, and positively. General topics are addressed, such as self-presentation and introducing oneself, maintaining a conversation, analyses of social situations, and dating. Blindness-specific topics are also addressed, including describing one’s visual impairment and requesting reasonable accommodations. Opportunities for self-reflection, peer modeling, and student-led instruction are provided.
